Toll adjustment for trucks | 01/12/2023
Changes in the German Federal Trunk Road Toll Act
On October 20, 2023, German Parliament passed the Third Act to amend toll legislation without amendment. The law will therefore enter into force on December 1, 2023.
As of December 1, 2023, this means that road freight transport will be charged costs for CO2 emissions in the form of an additional partial toll rate in addition to the costs for infrastructure, noise and air pollution.
New CO2 emissions class tariff property from 1 December 2023
The CO₂ emission class is introduced as a new tariff property. This means that the toll rate per kilometre also depends on how much carbon dioxide (CO₂) a vehicle emits.
