For several years, real fire tests have been carried out with lithium-ion batteries in our storage and transport containers. During the tests, the LogBATT boxes (single cells, modules and / or batteries) are specially subjected to thermal runaway using recognized scientific methods. The performance is validated against the requirements of ADR 2023.

The results are documented and analyzed in cooperation with universities and research institutes and prepared transparently for customers as well as for authorities and institutes. These include: 

• The temperature of the outer surfaces of the complete package mustn't be > 100 °C
• No flame may form outside the package
• No projectiles may escape from the package
• The structural integrity of the package must be maintained
• The packaging must have a gas management system
