The toll system
On 1 January 2010 an electronic toll system was introduced for all vehicles with an authorised total weight above 3.5 tonnes by the government with Law Nr. 25/2007. Based on the government decree SR Nr. 350/2007, the regulation applies on all highways, express roads and federal roads.
The calculation of the road fee is done by an On-Board Unit (OBU) and depends on the covered kilometres, the emissions class of the vehicle, the authorised total weight and the number of axles.
.In order to provide you with transparency and control when charging for the distance tax, the costs are shown as separate tariff items on the invoice.
